One of my many near death experiances
Before I came to Defiance College I attended school at Heidelberg University. There, I threw for the track and field team. I threw everything but i excelled at javelin. Our throwing coach threw javelin when he was in college and i was the only male throwing the javelin so he focused a lot on me. About half way though the year he decided to recruit another javelin thrower. He was a sprinter which really helps in the event however I don't think that he has ever thrown anything in his life before so he needed a lot of work. So one day we working on our approach (the running part before you throw) I was on one side of the field by my self and our coach and the recruit were on the other side. We each had had a Javelin in hand I was dunning about 50 yards towards the center of the football field and then back. The other guy was doing the same thing on the other side but he was only doing about 30 yards. Our coach then decided to make him go the whole the whole 50 yards but no one informed me of this. So we both are approaching the center of the field without the other person knowing it because we were looking to the side of of the field. We approached the center at the same time and I looked to my left to see where I was. What I saw was the other guy's javelin was inches away from my neck. He had too much momentum to stop and while I did realize what was happening, I didn't have enough time to react to it. However I just happened to roll my ankle at the same time on accident. me rolling my ankle made me "very gracefully" fall allowing be to matrix style dodge the near death experience by complete accident.
